My latest television obsession has been Will & Grace. I find myself drawn to comedies set in NYC; How I Met Your Mother, Friends, etc. Anywho, the fact that Will & Grace is not available on the instant stream lead me to complain about this week for all to see/read/hear about. Whatever. Come on Netflix people, I pay sixteen dollars a month, give me some Will & Grace on the instant stream! That is all.

A new segment that allows me to whine and moan about whatever I want. Enjoy.

I’m so sick of the judgemental, “small town mentality” around here. I feel like I have to walk on eggshells around certain people that are like family to me, and I, for one, will no longer have it. Any of it. Moving to the city, even if it was for just a few months, has really made me re-evaluate the way I feel about this place and the people that inhabit it. I think it would do us all good if we tried to be more accepting of others and more open-minded. It also might spice this place up a bit. (; Too much of the same thing, the same kind of people, is old. And has been for a while. This has been weighing on my mind, and so I felt the need to share it. That is all. And I bid you good day.

Most people know that taking care of other people’s children is what occupy’s most of my time. And I am more than okay with that; I thoroughly enjoy doing it and love the kids that I watch. Today is Thursday, which means I spend my time with two little girls who are ages four and one. Most of our time is spent playing dolls. princess, or some other nonsense game that requires me to talk in cartoon voices. This is how I spend every Monday through Thursday. What’s that you say? I am one lucky duck? You’re way too right.

When playing princesses, I am always Sleeping Beauty, of course, because she’s just..beautiful of course. And we both have long, flowing, blonde hair and enjoy taking naps. The other two girls play the parts of Belle and Ariel. As they should. I’m the only blonde, so I have free reign of all the blonde princess parts. That’s how it goes. Every. Single. Week.

I am not one to be easily aggravated or mad or even frustrated. But today, when the girls had their three year old friend over, who demanded that she be Sleeping Beauty, I was livid. Who did she think she was, coming in here and playing the part that I so faithfully play every week?! The girls suggested that we both be Sleeping Beauty. We both be Sleeping Beauty? You guys serious? You know there’s only ONE Sleeping Beauty, right girls? Of course they didn’t mind. The next suggestion was me being Cinderella. To which my response was, get real. You think I’m gonna waste my life away scrubbing down things with that bang job on her forhead? Yeah. Right. Thanks, but no thanks, you nim-witted twits.

That’s when I took a step back and realized; I’m dealing with toddlers and baby. And that’s when it was time for me to take a step back, breathe, and be the bigger person. (Which I am, considerably.) So I played the part of Cinderella with prided, poise, and was the best one out of all four of us. Needless to say, I showed them how a real princess part is done. And they showed me how children sometimes have the tendancy to behave better than some adults. Lesson learned.
